Hello dear friends,
After much consideration, many conversations with each other, our stakeholders and advisors we (Nadia & Delano) have made the terribly sad and difficult decision to cancel the Harvest Sun Music Fest scheduled for August 22-23, 2020.
This has not been an easy decision for us to make and our hearts are broken, but as a small family run festival we believe that this is the best choice for us and for the safety of you, our community moving forward. We don't know what the future holds for the Harvest Sun, but for 15 years we have been greatly honoured and have absolutely loved coming together with our Harvest Sun family to celebrate in community our Manitoba artists, growers and makers. We truly cherish all of the amazing magic that we have generated together through the years and while we aren't able to gather together in person this summer, we are working hard to make an alternative 'coming together, apart' online event happen.
We are all learning to cope with the changes in our world during these very challenging times, but we as a community are resilient, and we are so grateful for the ways in which music has brought us together over the years. We will be sending details of our online "FROM OUR BACKYARD TO YOURS' celebration as things progress, but it will be held on Saturday, August 22nd and will be accessible via links on our website, Instagram and Facebook.
We will be set up to accept 'pay what you can' donations in a virtual 'PASSING OF THE HAT' in lieu of tickets sales on behalf of our artists who are struggling in these days where live music & gatherings are being cancelled.
If you are an Early Bird ticket holder from our Holiday Early Bird Sale, we are prepared to offer refunds as requested. While we know these are difficult times financially for many, if you are in the position to donate your ticket purchase to support the festival and our artists, your financial contribution would be greatly appreciated and you will be issued a tax deductible receipt.
It is hard even to bring this statement to a close, we are still in a bit of shock that it has all come to this. But we believe that together we can change the tides. To grow, to heal and to come together in new and unique ways.
In closing we would like to send a huge thank you to our fabulous and dedicated team of volunteers who work their tails off every year, our unbelievable Harvest Sun audience and family, our long term supporters and believers, our community partners and of course the absolutely unbelievably talented group of performers that have graced our stage again and again. We love you all, the Harvest Sun would not ever have been without you.
Please stay safe, look out for your neighbours and we will see you all on August 22nd as we connect in love and light from our backyard!
